The MoFA Director with his team today paid a working visit to Green Gold Ghana a Social Enterprise base Zongo Macheri in the Krachi Nchumuru district in the Volta Region.
Green Gold Social Enterprise a company that deals in Moringa Leafs, Oil and Poultry Production and also has an institution called Dreamivill where 20 entrepreneurs are trained.
Green gold has an incubator which has a capacity of 1525 that can be used to hatch different types of eggs, solar dry for the drying of the leaf and oil press, for the processing of the oil. Green gold has also 20 acres of moringa farm.
The Director for MoFA Abduial Ncheal said the purpose for their visit is to learn post-harvest losses.
He said post-harvest losses is one of the major factor which is affecting most farmers in the district and Ghana as a whole.
MoFA Director said Agric continues to be the backbone of Ghana economy, it is therefore necessary to support farmers to improve in the agricultural sector.
Abduial said to increase productivity and reduce post-harvest losses Mofa will ensure that Farmer Service Center for timely and enhanced access to mechanization services is provide.
The centers will provide services such as farm machinery, input supply, farmer training, machine manifesting and repair and storage services.
He added that as green gold is in their district they will continues to visit and also implement the idea that they have to help improve the company.
Meanwhile the CEO for Green Gold Ghana Clement Matornmasen also brief them on some of the challenges the company is facing interims of moringa seed, leafs and oil production.
He made mention of how to get seed from the local community is very difficult.
He applied to MoFA to help promote moringa to enable farmers go into it to help the company get more seed.
Matornmasen said the company is going to improve the lives of the people through job creation and provide nutritional supplement as natural medicine to treat both children and adult.
He added that the profit made will reinvest in to the local community through, education and health and road. He called on farmers to start farming moringa to help element poverty in the country.
