SAMMY GYAMFI CAUGHT IN THE SOUP OF INCONSISTENCIES AND LIES.

When a sloth is elected to lead a party's communications wing, you tend to flip-flop on matters which generate national interest. Sammy Gyamfi has been lethargic since his election as the NDC's communications director. He lied about President Akufo-Addo's trip to South Africa and had to apologize for that guff. BASIC SCHOOL TEACHERS IN GHANA ARE "PURE CRIMINALS"-PRO STEPHEN ADEI.

Ghanaian teachers in public basic schools are “criminals” because “they do not teach” yet take their salaries and send their children to private schools, a former rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Professor Stephen Adei, has said. That attitude of Ghanaian teachers, he said, is affecting the quality of education at the primary level. Responding to critics who argue that the government’s double-track system will affect the quality of education at the high school level, Prof Adei told Benjamin Akakpo on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show that: “Quality issues have nothing to do with the double-track system. The quality issue, first and foremost, lies in our basic education”. “Eighty percent of Ghanaian children attend public basic schools, and if you go there, many of the teachers are pure criminals. They don’t teach, and the worst still is that: people who have been trained as teachers, and they are paid more than GHS1,000 a month

ROAD SECTOR TO GET MASSIVE FACELIFT

The road sector is undergoing massive transformation in just two years of the Akufo Addo administration. All the regions, including the newly created 6 regions are getting projects. It is an absolute fact that when this regime formed the government in 2017, the Road fund was inaccessible. This was because the Mahama administration used the road fund as collateral for a loan from UMB bank. As such, in 2017 maintenance activities on roads was problematic. However, the Akufo Addo regime was able to refinance the fund. This regime even renegotiated the interest rate for the loan which the NDC used the road fund as collateral for – the interest was revised down from 32% to 22%. Now the fund is active. It is also a fact that, due to competent management, this regime negotiated the greatest barter trade deal in the history of the country: the $2 billion-dollar Sinohydro deal for infrastructure development. About 70% of the $2 billion dollars will be utilized by the road sector. The

Building National Cathedral But Removing RME from Syllabus is Hypocrisy – Educationist

An Educationist has said the government’s desire for a National Cathedral while Religious and Moral Education (RME) has been cancelled from the education curricula is contradictory. According to Daniel Fenyi, morality has totally broken down in Ghana to the extent that youths these days indulge in sexual immoralities with impunity. He cited the rise of leaked sex tapes on social media as evidence of a morally troubled society. He said the time has come for moral education to be emphasised and intensified at the basic education level, instead of being scrapped from the educational curriculum. Daniel Fenyi said building a National Cathedral for Christians to pray and perform other religious activities without giving children adequate moral education is a zero-sum move. Meanwhile, the Catholic Bishops Conference has said in a statement that RME  is a means that the Church has used over the years for character formation and transformation in schools and urged Government n
